Who should register as media for E3 2005?
E3 2005 Media Registration is open only to working journalists with commercial news organizations who are over the age of 18. E3 2005 is a trade-only event and is not open to the general public. No one under age 18 is permitted, including infants.
Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity will not be qualified for a media badge. Titles that are considered unacceptable include, but are not limited to: art directors, district managers, graphic designers publishers, managers, marketing representatives, presidents, public relations personnel, sales representatives and vice presidents.

I've qualified as media and attended E3 in the past. Do I have to re-register again?
Yes. If you were qualified as media for previous E3 shows, you ARE NOT automatically guaranteed a media badge for E3 2005. You are required to submit new credentials each year to be considered for a media badge.
How do I register for an E3 2005 media badge?
To request a media badge click here for Media eRegistration. Note that submitting the registration request form does not automatically qualify you for a media badge at E3 2005. The management of E3 2005 reserves the right to deny any applicant a media badge.
What are the credential requirements for an E3 2005 media badge?
Working journalists over the age of 18 who wish to register for a media badge must first submit a media registration request. Click here to complete the request form.

Print Media & Newswire Reporters:
To qualify as media, print and newswire journalists must provide:
A. A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo, AND
B. A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 18 will be admitted), AND
C. A bylined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of your publication and your byline).
D. Please note: The name on your business card and your photo identification must match to be accepted.
Freelance Journalists:
Please note: Freelance writers from unqualified media outlets will not be admitted. Qualification of all media outlets will be determined by the E3 2005 Media Registration staff.
In order to qualify as media for E3 2005, we require that you provide:
A. A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 18 will be admitted), AND
B. A letter from a publisher, editor or producer (on their letterhead) stating that you are covering E3 2005 on assignment, AND
C. A bylined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication (above) written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline), AND
D. If you are a freelance journalist for online media, you must also provide a copy of the Web site's business license or government issued documentation showing the business's federal tax identification number.
E. Please note: The name on your business card and your photo identification must match to be accepted.
Online Reporters:
Only journalists with commercial news Web sites qualify for E3 2005 media badges. Sites must be previously established and updated regularly with original and current interactive entertainment industry news. Fan sites, personal Web site writers, designers, editors or creators cannot be registered as media. Click here to register as a general attendee for E3 2005.
To qualify as online media, provide:
A. A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 18 will be admitted), AND
B. A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo, AND
C. A PRINTED copy of your online publication with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity, including a bylined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline), AND
D. A copy of the Web site's business license or government issued documentation showing the business's federal tax identification number.
E. Please note: The name on your business card and your photo identification must match to be accepted.
Broadcast Journalists & Photographers:
Each member of a broadcast crew must register separately.
To qualify as media, please provide:
A. A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 18 will be admitted), AND
B. A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo, AND
C. A letter from a producer/editor (on company letterhead) stating that you are covering E3 2005 on assignment.
D. Please note: The name on your business card and your photo identification must match to be accepted.
Industry and Financial Analysts:
Please provide:
A. A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 18 will be admitted), AND
B. A copy of your business card with name, title and company logo, AND
C. A recent report or bulletin on interactive entertainment with your byline (published within the last six months).
D. Please note: The name on your business card and your photo identification must match to be accepted.
I submitted my online media badge request, but have not received a response. How long should I wait?
To complete your application, you MUST EMAIL, FAX OR MAIL backup documentation (see question #4). You will receive an email communication two to three weeks after you submit the online application form AND submit your credentials.
To check the status of your registration, please visit our online media registration verification system. You will need your name as it was entered in the online registration request form, your registration number and registration date.
If I pre-register for a media badge, will it be mailed to me in advance?
U.S.-based journalists who complete registration by April 11 will receive their badges in the mail before the show. All journalists who receive a badge MUST go to on-site Media Registration in the West Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center to pick up a badge holder.
Due to heightened security, international and Canadian badges will not be mailed. International media must pick up their badges and badge holders on site at Media Registration in the Los Angeles Convention Center. Journalists MUST wear a badge and badge holder to enter the show floor.
NOTE: All journalists will be asked to present photo identification on-site in order to obtain a badge and/or badge holder.
I'm a journalist under age 18. May I attend E3 2005?
No. E3 2005 is a trade-only event, and is not open to the general public. No one under age 18 is permitted, including infants.
If I submit my media registration information after the April 11 pre-registration deadline, is it possible to register on-site?
Yes, you may register on-site at E3 2005. You must bring photo identification AND the appropriate credentials detailed here .

What facilities are available for media on-site at E3 2005?
The E3 2005 Media Center offers convenient support for journalists covering the show. It features a large newsroom equipped with Apple and PC computers and high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi network access. Standard office equipment, such as local telephones, fax and photocopy machines, is also available to the media. The Media Center also includes a press conference room, a media kit room and a media-only hospitality suite, with food and beverage service on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is included with my media badge?
Your media badge will allow you access to the show floor, media center, media hospitality suite, media briefing and breakfast. Please note, the media briefing and breakfast is first come, first served.

When will the exhibitor contact information be available for media?
The information will be available to qualified media in April. Please contact the E3 Media Relations Team at media@E3Expo.com to request it.
How do I change information on my media registration?

Can I attend the Conference Program?
Conference Program passes will be available, space permitting, in the Media Center (room 502, West Hall) for qualified media who can provide a valid media badge. Please note that only one pass per person per day will be given.
